7 Years of PEM: From 8 Learning Resources to an International Automic Community

Seven years of Automic knowledge, countless hours of hands-on learning, and an amazing community: PEM is celebrating its 7th anniversary!

What started in October 2019 with just eight learning resources has grown into a comprehensive training platform with hundreds of courses, practical exercises, interactive labs, and a growing international audience.

With the launch of our English platform in November 2024, PEM opened a new chapter, making our practical Automic training accessible to learners around the world.

Time to look back at some memorable milestones, surprising numbers, and the highlights of 2026!

From a Small Idea to an International Learning Platform

When PEM first launched in October 2019, things were still pretty modest: eight learning resources, our first members, and one clear mission: Make Automic knowledge accessible, understandable, and, above all, practical.

Over the following years, our learning library continued to expand. New courses, tutorials, exercises, and interactive labs were added, helping Automic users develop their skills at their own pace.

A major milestone came in November 2024, when we launched pemautomic.com, our dedicated English-language learning platform.

Today, our international platform offers 247 published learning resources covering everything from Automic fundamentals to advanced administration, scripting, workflows, REST APIs, and the latest Automic V26 features.

And our library keeps growing!

The following interactive chart shows how the English PEM learning library has developed since its international launch.

Alongside our training content, we have also published 35 English blog articles, sharing tutorials, technical insights, product updates, and news from the Automic community.

But there is much more to PEM than numbers. Behind every course, every lab, and every new feature are countless hours of work, exciting challenges, and people who have helped shape our journey.

Seven Years, Many Milestones

A lot has happened since those first eight learning resources went online. Here are some moments that helped shape PEM into what it is today:

  • October 2019: PEM officially launches with eight learning resources. Our first members join, and the journey begins.
  • February 2022: Marcin joins the PEM team, bringing additional expertise in Automic administration, infrastructure, and automation.
  • January 2023: PEM receives a major redesign, including improved navigation, a new content search, and numerous usability improvements.
  • March 2023: PEM Labs officially launch. The first Storylab, Spacestation, introduces a new dimension of interactive, hands-on Automic training.
  • September 2024: We celebrate five years of PEM with a two-day Automic conference in Vienna, bringing together members, partners, and Broadcom experts.
  • November 2024: PEM goes international! Our dedicated English platform launches, making our training accessible to a much wider audience.
  • 2025: Our international training library expands with additional learning paths, free Explorer content, advanced tutorials, and practical labs. Meanwhile, PEM on Tour brings the Automic community together in person.
  • 2026: Gamification, new V26 content, AI-focused training, live sessions, and our first Automic Pub Quiz make this another exciting year.

One particularly memorable moment was our 5th anniversary conference in Vienna in 2024. Two days filled with presentations, workshops, interesting conversations, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow Automic enthusiasts.

PEM by the Numbers: Did You Know?

Some statistics from our original PEM community have surprised even us.

Our most dedicated learners: Three members have explored more than 300 different learning resources each! In total, 23 members have accessed more than 200 different resources.

Our most popular course: The introductory course What is Automic Automation has attracted more than 500 unique participants on our original platform. Five courses have exceeded 400 participants, and 16 have welcomed more than 300.

Seven years of learning activity: Back in 2019, we recorded just 39 course visits on the original PEM platform. By 2025, that number had grown to an impressive 8,870 annual course visits.

Our longest-standing members: Some people who joined PEM back in October 2019 are still learning with us today. Seven years later!

And with the international platform continuing to grow, we look forward to welcoming even more Automic enthusiasts from around the world.

2026: Another Exciting Year for PEM

Our seventh year has certainly kept us busy. New Automic features, additional training opportunities, platform improvements, and some very memorable community events have made 2026 particularly exciting.

Automic V26 and Artificial Intelligence

With Automic V26, there has been plenty to explore. Improvements to the Automic Web Interface, new REST API capabilities, and growing AI integration possibilities have opened up exciting opportunities for automation professionals.

At PEM, we have followed these developments closely with new tutorials, webinars, videos, and practical exercises.

Our PEM Future Lab has also given members opportunities to explore new Automic features directly in a dedicated test environment.

At the same time, we have continued expanding our role-based learning paths for Operators, Designers, and Administrators, preparing the next generation of practical Automic V26 training.

Learning Gets Even More Rewarding

Learning Automic requires curiosity, dedication, and sometimes a little patience. So why not celebrate the progress along the way?

In 2026, we introduced gamification to PEM, making learning achievements more visible and rewarding.

Members can now earn experience points and badges as they complete courses, participate in learning activities, and reach new milestones.

It’s an extra bit of motivation to keep learning, experiment with new technologies, and maybe even challenge yourself to go one step further.

Bringing the Automic Community Together

While online learning remains at the heart of PEM, we have always believed that exchanging experiences with other Automic professionals is just as valuable.

Through PEM on Tour, live training sessions with our partners, and various community events, we have created more opportunities to meet, learn, and share ideas beyond the screen.

One particularly entertaining highlight was our first Automic Pub Quiz in September 2026.

Together with Broadcom, we brought a mix of technical questions, unexpected challenges, and plenty of fun to the Automic community. It was a great opportunity to put Automic knowledge to the test in a completely different setting.

And who knows? Perhaps this won’t be our last Pub Quiz!

What’s Next for PEM in 2027?

Even after seven years, we still have plenty of ideas.

Expanding and updating our learning paths for Automic V26 remains one of our major priorities. We also plan to continue creating new tutorials, practical exercises, interactive labs, and improvements to the learning experience.

Our mission remains the same: Helping you understand Automic, build confidence through hands-on practice, and continuously develop your automation skills.

And of course, we want to keep bringing the international Automic community together.
