Improvements in Automic Web Interface V24: An overview

In this tutorial, we show the new features and improvements in Automic Web Interface (AWI) version 24, which brings a number of useful changes aimed at optimising the user experience and simplifying day-to-day work with AWI. The tutorial is divided into the following five sections and (hopefully) shows all the new features in AWI in V24.0:
  • Accessibility
  • Workflow filters
  • Changed AWI behaviour
  • Changes to object definitions
  • Changes to the configuration files
Here's a quick look at some of the key updates.

Unicode support in AWI V24

A key feature in V24 is the introduction of Unicode support. This feature extends the capabilities of AWI in terms of processing different character sets, which is particularly beneficial for use in international environments.

Progress in accessibility

In version 24, AWI has made significant progress in terms of accessibility. Improved browser zoom support and enhanced keyboard navigation options are examples of customisations that allow all users to interact with AWI more efficiently. These adaptations are an important step in making the AWI accessible to a broader user base.

New filter options in the workflow editor

The introduction of new filter options in the workflow editor is a significant improvement that simplifies the management of workflows. This feature allows users to quickly isolate and edit specific tasks, which can be a significant time saver, especially in large workflows.

Improvements in the operation of the AWI

AWI V24 also introduces a number of operational improvements. These include customisations that simplify the deletion of folders, the ability to copy object names directly via the context menu, a revised help menu that provides faster access to important resources, and much more.

Extended configuration options

V24 also introduces new configuration options that give users more flexibility and control over the application. The changes in the configuration files, especially in colors.properties, allow for more customisation of the interface. With the updates in V24, the Automic Web Interface shows a clear focus on improved usability and efficiency. We can look forward to seeing what else the announced minor releases of V24 will bring.
