DS06 - Introduction to Workflows

In the Designer learning path, you have already created some Automic objects. But in this course, you will learn the ultimate skill: how to design workflows, along with creating, configuring and linking tasks. Joel will show you tips and tricks on how to use the Workflow Editor as efficiently as possible, while also covering the various workflow tasks properties.

Have you already completed the Operator learning path and are you ready to take the next step on your journey to becoming an automation expert? Then this learning path is just for you! In the PEM Automic Designer learning path, you will learn all about Automic objects, how they are used and how to use them specifically to implement your company's automations. The contents build on each other step by step and increases your expertise with each lesson so that by the end you will be able to create and analyze automation solutions independently. A final test awaits you at the end, upon successful completion of which you will receive a certificate.

In addition to the free exercises that are offered to you in the course of the learning path, we also have something very special for you: The CanPuncher Storylabs accompany your designer training and allow you to gain your first practical experience in an entertaining way. A story accompanied by pictures guides you through the challenges that await you as an Automic Designer. You will carry out the associated exercises in a safe PEM test environment.

In this course on the Designer learning path, you will learn more about:

  • Probably the most important object in your automation solution: the workflow!
  • Tricks and tips for using the workflow editor:
    • How to keep an overview with the zoom tools
    • How to link multiple workflow tasks at the same time
    • How to navigate and link tasks in large workflows
  • How to search and filter workflow tasks
  • What distinguishes workflow tasks from objects
  • What types of workflow tasks there are and what settings are associated with them.
    • The various settings of “regular” workflow tasks
    • How to use external dependencies (comes with an exercise)
    • How to important settings on the Start & End tasks

At the end there will also be some exciting exercises and a great final quiz to round off your learning experience.
