Archive Browser 2026

The AE Archive Browser is a new web application from Broadcom and PEM Labs. It enables lightning-fast, database-free searching of millions of archived Automic records using Apache Lucene indexing. A dedicated demo environment, complete with login details, is now available for both members and Explorer users to try out.

The evolution of a classic: From the classroom to the Marketplace

The story behind the AE Archive Browser is extraordinary: over a period of seven months, Broadcom Engineering supported a project at a technical college in Vienna. The aim was to completely rebuild a tried-and-tested but technically outdated Automic tool, bringing it up to modern standards. The result was so impressive that Broadcom decided to officially insource the tool and make it available via the Marketplace. We at PEM Labs supported this project from the outset by providing the demo environments.

Exclusive demo access for Members & Explorers

The AE Archive Browser is now available to our entire community. Both existing Members and new Explorer users can test the tool extensively in our demo environment free of charge.

Lightning-fast performance without database load

The AE Archive Browser indexes 7-bit ASCII archive files using Apache Lucene. For you, this means instant search results across millions of records, without any active database connection. The application also features its own REST API for seamless integration into your workflows.

Complete transparency across four categories

All data in the archive is logically structured and searchable as separate categories:
  • Executions: Archived AE execution headers such as run ID, status and timestamp.
  • Reports: View activation and execution reports directly in the browser.
  • Messages: All archived AE system messages at a glance.
  • Comments: Manually entered comments from the AE client also remain searchable.
