OPX02 - Working with Dashboards

In this operator course, we show you how to use Automic dashboards as a central monitoring tool – from activities and history to favourites and queue monitor to process monitoring. With practical exercises in the operator test lab, you will learn how to quickly identify running, waiting and failed tasks and respond in a targeted manner.

Using Automic Dashboards – Monitoring for Operators

Dashboards in the Automic Web Interface bundle key information from the system and provide an at-a-glance view of the current operating status. Used correctly, they help operators to identify ongoing, pending or failed tasks more quickly and take targeted action. In this course, you will learn how to use dashboards effectively in your daily work as an Automic operator – in a practical, comprehensible way and directly in the system.

Practical course for everyday operator work

The course is aimed at operators who already work with the AWI and want to structure and simplify their monitoring. The focus is not on the design of dashboards, but on their application in daily operations. All exercises take place in an operator test lab. You will work with realistic examples, start tasks yourself and observe the effects directly in dashboards and monitoring views.

Understanding and reading dashboards correctly

First, you will learn what dashboard objects (DASH) are and why their content is only visible in the home or dashboard perspective. You will familiarise yourself with navigation, private and public dashboards, and personal start dashboards. You will then work with various widget categories – from general widgets for information to process automation widgets for operational monitoring.

Effective monitoring with widgets

One focus is on process automation widgets such as activities, history, favourites, queue monitor and, in particular, the process monitoring widget. You will learn how different monitoring views are created and how dashboards can be used to provide standardised monitoring views for multiple operators.

What you will learn in this course

  • How dashboards are structured and used in Automic
  • How to navigate confidently in the home and dashboard perspectives
  • How to monitor ongoing and completed tasks via dashboards
  • how to use favourites, queues and monitoring views in everyday work
  • and how dashboards provide operators with a quick, uniform overview

Ideal for operators with a practical focus

This course is ideal for operators who want to click less and understand what is happening in the system more quickly. Dashboards are transformed from mere info screens into central tools for monitoring and responding in Automic operations.
